What We Do
In an age of increasing isolation and loneliness, Chamber Reach offers the bonds of shared emotional experience though the joy and power of live performance.
Our first initiative is Southside Chamber Music, presenting high quality chamber performances to the Southside community. This series will bring you some of Scotland’s most acclaimed musicians and, through association with the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, will showcase emerging artists of the next generation. The concerts will be full of variety, offering a mix of styles and genres, and breaking down barriers between art forms. They bridges the generations, presenting both established Scottish artists and emerging young musicians and link each performance to a related workshop for local schoolchildren.
In future months, Chamber Reach will expand its work to social centres, care homes, libraries and more. By taking music to people where they are most comfortable, we aim to develop more active participation and increase health and wellness throughout Glasgow.
Our Vision
To create more cohesive communities and bring people together through the joy of accessible live music.
Who We Are
Alison Wells and Jeffrey Sharkey have been playing chamber music together for over 40 years. They have seen first hand the power of music to transform lives throughout their careers as performers and educators. They have held senior positions in conservatoires in the UK and USA and most recently moved from Baltimore to Glasgow in 2014 to work at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. After 12 years of immersion in the Southside’s welcoming and vibrant community they were inspired to form ChamberReach, whose mission is to bring their community together through the power of live performance.
